Open Framed - Cabinet construction where the face frame is eliminated. This allows for maximum storage space and access to your cabinets.
Slab - With clean, straight edges and lines, a slab door style has flat front doors and drawers. This door style is typically used in more contemporary room designs.
Recessed Panel - A flat panel held inside the perimeter of a door. A flat panel recesses between the stiles and rails.
Raised Panel - A center panel in a door that is elevated from the door frame and used typically in traditional designs.
Edgebanding - A finishing touch for cabinets, edgebanding is a material that is applied to the front edges of the cabinet box in a neutral finish.
Filler - A piece of cabinetry material used in between a cabinet and an appliance or a wall. Fillers are also used to fit uneven spaces.
MDF - Medium Density Fiberboard. An engineered wood offering an extremely tight and smooth surface. Exceptionally stable, MDF is favored for laminating with thermofoils and melamine.
Fiberboard - Fiberboard is an engineered wood product heavily used in furniture construction.
Melamine - Solid-colored laminate material that is both durable and easy to clean. It is stain and mark-resistant and also heat-tolerant.
Thermofoil - A vinyl material with adhesive on its underside. It is applied to smooth, engineered wood or MDF which has been formed into a door or drawer. It has solid coloration and is easy to clean and maintain.
Flecks - Small speckles of a different finish color uniquely distributed through the door front finish to provide an overall color with depth and character.
EPP - Environmentally Preferred Product. Section 201 of Executive Order 13101 to mean products or services that "have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared with competing products or services that serve the same purpose. This comparison may consider raw materials acquisition, production, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, reuse, operation, maintenance or disposal of the product or service."
